Shirin Farhad Ki Toh Nikal Padi

 
 

Shirin Farhad Ki Toh Nikal Padi is a 2012 Bollywood romantic comedy film directed by Bela Bhansali Sehgal, starring Farah Khan, Boman Irani, Kavin Dave, Shammi, Kurush Deboo and Daisy Irani.

Plot -

Farhad Pastakia (Boman Irani) has a dream job as a bra-and-panty salesman. Except that he’s a 45-year old Parsi bachelor still living with his overbearing mother and grandmother. But it’s not like he’s stopped trying. Desperate to get him married, Farhad’s mother drags him to see women and even to embarrassing Parsi matrimony services.
In the midst of all the daily humdrum, Farhad meets the woman of his dreams: Shirin Fugawala (Farah Khan), who drops by his store. Shirin, who works at the Parsi Trust, hits it off with Farhad from the start. Everything seems to be perfect and Farhad gets ready to introduce Shirin to his mother. But mummy becomes the villain in their story when she discovers that Shirin is the devious Parsi Trust Secretary who got the illegal water tank in their home demolished. The water tank being the ‘aakhri nishaani’ of Farhad’s late father doesn’t help matters.
The ups and downs in Shirin-Farhad’s relationship and how the two try to make it work is the rest of the journey.

Shirin Farhad Ki Toh Nikal Padi received positive to mixed critical reactions. Taran Adarsh of Bollywood Hungama gave the movie 3.5/5, saying that "SHIRIN FARHAD KI TOH NIKAL PADI is a simple, unfussy and heartfelt movie that hits the right notes.


Sukanya Verma :

Sukanya Verma of Rediff gave the movie 3.5/5, commenting that "Shirin Farhad Ki Toh Nikal Padi certainly makes for a welcome break from farcical exaggerations. What sets this delightful love story apart is that it's woven around two 40-plus Parsis, who neither face the hurdle of age nor community.

Rajeev Masand of CNN-IBN gave the movie 3/5, concluding that "Shirin Farhad Ki Toh Nikal Padi is a charming film made with heart. Give it a chance, you won’t be disappointed.

Ek Tha Tiger is a 2012 Bollywood romantic action thriller film starring Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif in the lead roles. Produced by Aditya Chopra and directed by Kabir Khan, the film marks the third collaboration of Kabir Khan with Yash Raj Films after Kabul Express (2006) and New York (2009). It is also Salman's first film with the company. The music for the film has been composed by Sohail Sen, along with a guest composition by duo Sajid-Wajid.

Plot -

A mysterious bachelor (Salman Khan) lived in a government employee neighbourhood about whom his neighbours know nothing. It is because he is India's top spy, an officer with research and analysis wing (RAW), India's external intelligence agency and called Tiger in his codename. Tiger reports to Shenoy (Girish Karnad) in New Delhi after every field mission for the last 12 years. Then Tiger is sent on a mission to Dublin, Ireland to observe a scientist of Indian origin, Professor Kidwai (Roshan Seth), who teaches at the Trinity College and suspect of sharing his finding with Pakistan defence establishment. Fellow RAW agent, Gopi (Ranvir Shorey) accompanies Tiger on this mission. Tiger attempts to meet the scientist but is not successful although he meet with scientist's caretaker Zoya (Katrina Kaif) who is studying at a fictional dance academy. He tries to befriend Zoya and as he begins to get closer to Zoya. He begins to discover his human side. For the first time in his life, Tiger falls in love. Then begins a journey that Tiger and Zoya embark upon battling the dark world of intelligence and espionage that forbids them from falling in love.

Taran Adarsh :
The film opened to a mixed response from the film critics.Taran Adarsh of Bollywood Hungama rated the film 4.5 stars out of 5 and termed it as a "high octane" thriller that "works big time", having "style and substance, both, besides dazzling action, stunning international locales and stylish execution." He refers to Salman Khan as the "trump card of this enterprise."

Saibal Chatterjee :
Saibal Chatterjee of NDTV gave it 3.5 out of 5 stars and praised the "smart" script, "sharply focussed" screenplay, visuals and the performances of the cast. However, he felt that the "few and far" romance made the film "slow down a little", concluding that the film could not be termed as "great cinema", but wasn't "just harmless fun."

Aniruddha Guha :
Aniruddha Guha of the Daily News and Analysis rated it with 3.5 stars and claimed that the film was "a full-blown Hindi film, with desh prem, farz and mohabbat as part of the recipe", concluding by calling it an "out-and-out Salman Khan film", which was "smart and stylish."
